Grant D. Stiefel
Grant Stiefel is an experienced litigator with significant first and second chair jury trial experience in representing clients from Corporate America, the UK, Central America and Asia (including two of Korea’s largest conglomerates). He has obtained favorable jury verdicts on behalf of Fortune 500 companies in federal and California state courts. Mr. Stiefel has also managed a litigation portfolio worth over $1 billion, and directly supervised law firms and lawyers in jurisdictions across the country. In addition, he has served as national coordinating counsel for several major corporations. In this role, he trained lawyers and law firms in “best practices” compliance with client billing guidelines and ethical rules. Thus, he is intimately familiar with law firm billing practices and the widespread potential for abuse, and has advised both clients and law firms on how to reduce billable hours while improving lawyer efficiency and accountability. He has presented numerous seminars and published articles on law firm billing practices, professional responsibility and data privacy issues. In addition to litigation, he provides proactive litigation prevention counseling in regard to products liability and business disputes.
Mr. Stiefel previously practiced at the international law firms of K&L Gates LLP and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. He is a 2000 graduate of the USC School of Law where he served on the Interdisciplinary Law Journal. A National Merit Scholar, he graduated from the University of Southern California in 1994 with a dual degree in Psychology and Linguistics. Mr. Stiefel is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before all California state and federal district courts and Ninth Circuit of Appeals.
